Back-to-Hogwarts week kicks off with MuggleNet FanFiction
It’s back to school week here on MuggleNet! The Hogwarts Express set off from Kings Cross just one day ago and the new class of Hogwarts students are settling in and starting classes, so what better way to celebrate than a selection of stories based on the start of a new year at school?
We’ll start with Dear Gran by goldensnidget92, a wonderful story told through the letters of Neville Longbottom as he embarks on his first year at Hogwarts. Once you’ve read that, why not take another look from the viewpoint of an original character? Wandless by Wandering Wand tells the story of Cybele who comes to Hogwarts in a rather unusual way.
Jumping forwards a few years we’ve got For Him by Gmariam exploring the train journey of Remus Lupin as he travels to the school to teach, only to be faced by the ghosts of a similar journey taken many years before. Then Chaser by Northumbrian follows Angelina Johnson as she enters her seventh year at Hogwarts, but every school year presents new problems.
Skipping further ahead we’ve also got some brilliant Next-Generation stories, what is Hogwarts like when the Battle of Hogwarts is a distant memory? Albus Potter and the Midnight Thief by Alice Mac proves sadly the fall of Voldemort hasn’t fixed every problem at school. Last but not least we have Scorpius Malfoy and the Disappearing Girl by Hotrav, exploring Scorpius, Albus and Rose’s second years at Hogwarts where the trouble starts even before the opening feast.
What else could you need to get ready for the new school year? If you loved these stories, there are many more over on the MuggleNet FanFiction archive so why not take a look yourself or follow us on twitter and facebook for even more recommendations.
