Role Call: More from “Potter” Cast
It seems the entire cast of the Harry Potter films are accepting new roles left and right. We previously reported a number of new roles for various cast members and have just learned of three more!
Freddie Stroma (Cormac McLaggen) may be busy filming The Visitors, an alien horror flick, but has also joined the cast of Lifetime’s pilot television series Unreal, a show based on a short film called Sequin Raze. Stroma’s character, Adam, will be the center of a Bachelor-style competition show within this series that follows a woman whose sole job it is to “manipulate relationships within (and among) the contestants” in order to get footage that will elevate the ratings for the show. Shiri Appleby costars in this drama produced by Buffy the Vampire Slayer writer/producer Marti Noxon.
Despite the announcement in a recent interview that remembering his lines for on-stage roles has sent him to the hospital in the past, Sir Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore) will take the stage once again for an off-broadway play, All That Fall. The play will run for a month beginning November 5 at 59E59 Theaters in NYC. All That Fall is set in Ireland and tells the story of a woman meeting her husband at the train and the unique characters she meets on her journey. For those who are familiar with Helena Bonham Carter’s fashion sense, it will be interesting to see what she comes up with for her new role as a fashion designer. Carter (who played Bellatrix Lestrange) has signed on to take part in designing footwear to raise money to benefit Save the Children, a charity that provides medical care to some of the world’s poorest countries. The Born to Walk Tall campaign will auction off the designs from celebrities like Carter and singer Mollie King from the Saturdays. The winning bidders will have an opportunity to bring the signed sketches to the made-to-order label Upper Street, who will actually make the shoes.
That’s all for this edition of casting, but with the rate new roles have been announced in the last month, make sure to keep checking MuggleNet for all the latest news!
