Warwick Davis talks reading, “Spamalot”
Warwick Davis recently took a break from starring alongside Les Dennis in Spamalot to speak and read to children at Deptford Park Primary School about reading as part of the Standard’s Get London Reading Campaign. Warwick admitted that he was not fond of fiction as a child, but his love of facts got him reading nonfiction. He stressed just how important reading is to his enthralled audience and encouraged them to find something they enjoy: “Even if you’re not so into reading, it doesn’t have to be fiction. Comic books, Guinness Book of Records, that’s what I grew up reading because I love facts.”
As we previously reported, Warwick is currently starring as Patsy in Spamalot and is excited to be in a comedy: “Comedy is something I’d wanted to do for years. I loved watching it and being funny, but no one wanted to do anything with me.”
We applaud Warwick’s commitment to encourage children to read and wish him luck in Spamalot! Will you be seeing the show? Let us know in the comments!
