Emma Watson film rights for “Your Voice in My Head” acquired by Sony Pictures Worldwide
We previously reported that Emma Watson has been confirmed to play the lead role in Your Voice in My Head. The film is based on Emma Forrest’s memoir about a young bipolar woman, living in New York.
It has now been announced by the International Film Trust (IFT) that Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions (SPWA) has made a deal for the rights to the film. SPWA has secured the rights for the film in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Eastern Europe, Scandinavia, and Latin America.
The film, which will be directed by Francesca Gregorini, is due to start shooting in 2014. Christian de Gallegos, who is head of sales for the IFT said,
Emma Watson’s ability to connect with audiences in her performances has buyers eager to see her bring Forrest’s character to life, and we are thrilled with the response so far.
ITF has also sold the film rights to other markets, and de Gallegos will sell the remaining rights.
Now that things are moving forward, are you looking forward to seeing Emma in this role? Are you glad that SPWA has secured the rights?
