Evanna Lynch launches anthology of student written works
Evanna Lynch recently visited her alma mater to launch an anthology of work by students from the Centre For Talented Youth, Ireland (CTYI) at Dublin City University. The anthology is titled Words to Tie to Bricks and features several short stories written by students between ages fourteen and seventeen, who attended the summer workshop. The program was run by author Claire Hennessey.
Lynch, who studied drama and speculative fiction writing at CTYI in 2007 and 2008, spoke at the event:
The Centre for Talented Youth is a home away from home for gifted young people from all corners of Ireland. From my own personal experience I know that it provides a challenging yet supportive environment which allows each person the freedom to develop and fully realise their talents. This exciting new collection gives wonderful expression to the imagination and creativity that are nurtured here at CTYI.
Director of CTYI, Dr. Colm O’Reilly, and Head of Fundraising at St. Michael’s House, Barbara Wiseman, also spoke of how proud they were of the students at the anthology launch. Proceeds from the book will be going to St. Michael’s House, an organization that provides assistance and resources for those with mental disabilities in Ireland.
Copies of the book can be ordered by contacting CTYI at ctyi@dcu.ie.
