Helen McCrory set to star in “The Woman in Black” sequel
Helen McCrory – the Harry Potter actress who portrayed Narcissa Malfoy – has been announced to feature in the sequel to the horror film originally starring Daniel Radcliffe. Variety released the film’s first still of her, along with one of War Horse’s Jeremy Irvine and actress Phoebe Fox, who will star alongside her.
According to the website HitFix, however, the film (fully titled The Woman in Black: Angel of Death) will not include Dan Radcliffe this time around. They reported,
The Woman in Black is back, but this time Harry Potter won’t be around to stop her.
Although Radcliffe won’t return for a second time, Hammer CEO Simon Oakes seems excited with the film’s development:
We are thrilled to have assembled such a talented team for the next stage in The Woman in Black story with the amazing Tom Harper at the helm.
Based on the story by Susan Hill, the main setting will of course still be at Eel Marsh House but this time taking place 40 years after the first film left off.
This spooky sequel should be ready to hit UK cinema screens February 13, 2015. There’s yet to be a set date for the US release.
