Pottermore expands into Japan – contents current to “Goblet of Fire”
Pottermore, the online interactive Harry Potter site, announced today through its official blog that it has launched in Japan, the largest Harry Potter market outside of the USA. This ultimate release of Pottermore into Japan has been long anticipated.
As a bonus for Japanese users, fans will be able to gain access to all currently released titles (Philosopher’s Stone–Goblet of Fire) instead of having to wait for the book-by-book releases like previous users have had to do. Fans from Japan will also be able to purchase the official eBooks from the online Pottermore store.
The site, which first launched in 2011, allows fans to access and explore new content from the series, as well as being officially sorted into a house. It also provides new and never-before-seen information behind the characters and events in the Hogwarts saga.
The next twelve months will be an exciting time for Japanese Harry Potter fans, with Universal Studios Japan set to open their Wizarding World of Harry Potter in 2014. If you are from Japan and experiencing all the new Harry Potter goodness, tell us your thoughts on this news below.
