Phelps twins visit Teenage Cancer Trust unit
To help celebrate its third birthday, Oliver and James Phelps (Fred and George Weasley) recently paid a visit to one of the Teenage Cancer Trust units at the Royal Orthopaedic Hospital in Birmingham. Since it’s a charity that they have both supported for quite some time, they were more than happy to go to the hospital and meet some of the patients. They even presented the teenagers with something very special in honor of the celebrations: an arcade machine.
When speaking about the Trust, James said,
It was great to see this unit today and celebrate this milestone with the unit, the young people and the charity.
Oliver added that the
Teenage Cancer Trust know[s] that teenagers don’t stop being teenagers just because they have cancer, so we thought that an arcade machine was a great way to keep them occupied during long stays in hospitals.
The twelve-bed unit, which opened back in 2010, took four years to develop and cares for young patients between the ages of thirteen and eighteen. It caters to them by supplying a number of different facilities, including a gaming zone, a digital jukebox, and beds for parents. An additional space for those ages eighteen to 24 recently opened in the same hospital.
