Daniel Radcliffe to reprise role in “The Cripple of Inishmaan” on Broadway
That’s right, folks. Dan Radcliffe will be returning to Broadway in April to once again play “Cripple” Billy Claven in The Cripple of Inishmaan. The Martin McDonagh play hit the West End, London last year and earned rave reviews, especially for Radcliffe’s performance. It is a dark comedy set in a small community on the Aran Islands, where the citizens of said community become extremely excited upon hearing the news that a Hollywood crew are set to film a documentary there.
The Hollywood Reporter states that previews begin at the Cort Theater on April 12, with the opening night then taking place on April 20. Ensemble cast includes Ingrid Craigie, Padraic Delaney, Sarah Greene, Gillian Hanna, Gary Lilburn, Conor MacNeill, Pat Shortt, and June Watson. The play has already been staged twice off Broadway, but “this marks its first Broadway presentation.”
This will be Radcliffe’s third appearance on Broadway, after, of course, previously starring in Equus and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.
