Alfonso Cuarón, “Gravity”, and Emma Thompson nominated for Jameson Empire Awards
With award season still well underway, the Jameson Empire Awards 2014 have now released their nominations for this year’s ceremony, and look who made the short list! Prisoner of Azkaban director Alfonso Cuarón has had plenty of recognition thus far for his film Gravity, and these awards are no different.
The sci-fi drama has been nominated for a total of four awards: Best Film, Best Sci-Fi/Fantasy, Best Director (Alfonso Cuarón), and Best Actress (Sandra Bullock).
But that’s not all, folks. A Harry Potter cast member has also been nominated for Best Actress, joining Bullock in said category. That’s right, Emma Thompson (Professor Trelawney) is once again recognized for her role as P.L. Travers in the Disney biopic Saving Mr. Banks. Additionally, This Is the End, in which Emma Watson made a cameo, is nominated for Best Comedy.
The nominations for the Jameson Empire Awards were chosen by the public, and so are the winners. Yes, you read correctly; the voting is entirely up to you! So what are you waiting for? Click here for your chance to vote.
