“Deathly Hallows” listed as one of the greatest book to film adaptations
Total Film has recently released a list of the 50 Greatest Book Movie Adaptations, and look what managed to make it – Deathly Hallows, coming in at No. 33. Although there were two films, Deathly Hallows was recognized as a whole as an adaptation, which “sated fans and snagged a ton of critical gushing,” clearly marking it good enough to be mentioned. They noted that the greatest change between book and film was of course the dance between Harry and Hermione in Part 1.
Deathly Hallows is joined by many others seen as greats of our generation, including Jurassic Park, The Shining, and The Shawshank Redemption, which made the list’s top spot. Also managing to gain a place was Fight Club, which starred Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), at No. 8 and Sense and Sensibility, which starred many members of the Harry Potter cast, at No. 30.
