Imelda Staunton and husband Jim Carter appointed as patrons for garden charity

Real life married couple Imelda Staunton OBE (Dolores Umbridge) and Downton Abbey’s Jim Carter have recently become patrons of the charity Greenfingers. This particular charity specializes in “creating magical gardens in children’s hospices across the UK.”

The husband and wife are apparently keen gardeners and are very much involved with backing the organization and its work. Chairman of Greenfingers, Matthew Wilson, exclaimed that the both of them “will be fantastic ambassadors for the charity and [the charity will] look forward to them spreading the word about the worthwhile work we do.”

Carter added, “To give children with life-limiting conditions, their siblings and families a chance to spend valuable time together outside in a natural environment, creating precious memories is invaluable.”

Greenfingers is currently partaking in a project called the Rosy Cheeks Appeal, aiming to raise money to fund for at least 10 more gardens.
