Interview with Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint for “The Big Issue”
Last month we previously reported both Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint scooping up prizes at the WhatsOnStage Awards in London. Dan walked away with Best Actor for his performance in The Cripple of Inishmaan, while Rupert won the Best Newcomer for his role in Mojo.
Said awards were held in aid of The Big Issue Foundation, a charity which helps homeless people in the UK. Now, The Big Issue has released an interview with Radcliffe and Grint, both of whom said they would love to get involved with selling the charity’s magazines. On the subject, Dan said,
“Going out and selling The Big Issue would undoubtedly be a challenge, especially for me and Rupert. But it would be a positive and edifying experience, and I’d be happy to support The Big Issue in any way.”
Rupert added, “I’d love to try selling The Big Issue, absolutely. I can’t imagine how difficult a job it is for these guys out on the street. I was terrified about how I would handle the play before it started, but I gave it my best, and I’d certainly give this a go too.”
Dan also commented on what it would be like if he swapped his acting life for something different:
“As actors we are afforded a certain attitude towards us, and this is a very privileged way to walk through the world. To swap that and get a taste for how a huge amount of people are treated in the world would be a rewarding experience.”
