J.K. Rowling voted Most Inspirational Businesswoman
Perhaps a title lying on the more unconventional side for the Harry Potter author, Most Inspirational Businesswoman is without a doubt a title to be proud of. Woman’s World reports that in a survey of UK freelancers, J.K. Rowling took in 23 percent of votes in the Crunch Accounting research.
The poll was taken in honor of International Women’s Day, which takes place Saturday, March 8. Other notable names on the list are Anita Roddick, founder of the Body Shop (16%), Karen Brady, vice-chairman of West Ham United (12%), and Victoria Beckham, fashion entrepreneur (3%).
Laura Hughes, Accountancy Training Manager at Crunch Accounting, noted that “Women from across the digital and creative industries received far more votes than the corporate heavyweights…”
J.K. Rowling has always served as an inspiration to many, for many reasons. With these results, maybe we should now be looking toward her for advice on entrepreneurial ventures in addition to creating the perfect villain in a novel.
