James Potter actor Adrian Rawlins chats to performing arts students
Actor Adrian Rawlins, who played James Potter in the Harry Potter films, recently visited East Riding College, in Hull, UK, to talk about his life as an actor. Adrian said,
I am happy to be invited to the college. I work as an actor, and I have just been having a talk with students and responding to their questions about what it’s like to work in the business.”
The students, who are studying performing arts, were delighted to welcome Adrian, and one student said,
This was a really valuable session and really useful for people like me who want to work in TV and film to hear from someone who works on the other side of the camera.
We all recognized him from Harry Potter and his TV work, and it really helped us to make sense of what we are learning when we heard how the theory is put into practice.”

Aside from his role as James Potter, Adrian has appeared in countless TV shows, such as Doctor Who and Silent Witness.
Fun fact: Adrian played Arthur Kipps in the 1989 TV adaptation of The Woman in Black (based on the novel by Susan Hill) over twenty years before Daniel Radcliffe went on to play the same role in the film version. Spooky, right? And Adrian is currently filming a role in The Woman in Black sequel, which also stars Potter actress, Helen McCrory.
What do you think of this strange coincidence? Are you looking forward to the new Woman in Black film?
