J.K. Rowling pays tribute to author Sue Townsend
J.K. Rowling has led tributes today to Adrian Mole author Sue Townsend. Townsend wrote the bestselling Secret Diary of Adrian Mole, Aged 13 ¾, which was published in 1982 to great acclaim. The first novel was followed by seven others, which saw the character Adrian Mole grow up. The author sadly passed away Thursday evening at her home in England.
J.K. Rowling added to the many triubutes paid by well-known faces, posting on Twitter today:

Adrian Mole influenced a whole generation, and he is still a very well-loved character to this day. Townsend will be much missed by many, and she leaves behind a lasting legacy.
