“Harry Potter” books among best selling products of all time
We all know how much of a worldwide phenomenon Harry Potter has become over the years since the very first book was published, with millions upon millions sold in all different countries and languages. Now, in a list featured on USA Today, it has been revealed that the book series has been included in the best selling products of all time!
Joining other products such as Lipitor, Star Wars, and the Mario Bros. franchise, the Potter books hit the list at number eight. About the series we all know and love, this is how the article summed it up:

The books has also made author J.K. Rowling the highest-paid author in the world. In 2007, Harry Potter’s U.S. publisher Scholastic sold 8.3 million copies of the final book, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, in the first 24 hours. The book series inspired eight movies between 2001 and 2011 that, combined, grossed $7.7 billion worldwide. In 2012, Rowling launched Pottermore.com, a site that offers new Harry Potter content and interactive experiences. The site reportedly had 1 billion viewers in the first two weeks it went live.
The number one spot was reserved for Playstation, whose consoles have been distributed since 1995 and thus far has had a total sales amount of 344 million units, with “more than 70 million PlayStations [sold] worldwide by the time the PlayStation 2 was released in 2000.”
