“Kill Your Darlings” to feature at Out in Africa Film Festival
Last year, Daniel Radcliffe film Kill Your Darlings hit a good number of the famous film festivals around the world, including Sundance, Venice, and London. This year it is set to feature at another one: the Out in Africa Gay and Lesbian Film Festival. This particular festival, which has been running since way back in 1994, will be held at the Cinema Nouveau in Rosebank, Johannesburg and the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town and “celebrates the fight against discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation.”
Out in Africa will run from May 28 to June 1, and Kill Your Darlings is set to open it. The screening of KYD will also include free refreshments courtesy of Cinema Nouveau. In the film, Dan plays poet Allen Ginsburg as it follows the story of a murder that takes place during the 1940s, drawing together various poets of the Beat generation.
Other films to feature at the festival are Boy Meets Girl, Stranger by the Lake, and Concussion, along with documentaries Weekend in Germany and The Incomplete, which are directed by Jan Soldat, who will be in attendance at the event.
