Muggle Wizardry
If you weren’t already excited about the grand opening of the Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Diagon Alley, then get ready to hit your favorite wizarding pub and grab yourself a few butterbeers! Media previews of the park’s expansion are currently underway, and although it’s not open to the public yet, some fantastic information has come to light.
Not only will you be able to enjoy the new rides and other attractions, but you will be able to do a little magic of your own! Universal has released information that in both the Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley parks, you will be able to cast spells with the proper incantations, including the Descending Spell and the Dancing Feet Spell. You can even levitate a quill!
Wands will be sold in both Ollivanders wand shops, and upon purchase, you will be given a map to show you where various spells can be cast throughout the park. There are medallions embedded in the ground with various incantations engraved on them, along with their corresponding shape. You then cast the spell on the adjacent shop window and watch the magic happen.
Some questions still remain as to the limit of this “Muggle wizardry,” including the number of spells you can cast in one place, whether or not you can cast spells together, etc.
Check out James and Oliver Phelps and Bonnie Wright test driving the magic.
