Video Update: Daniel Radcliffe reacts to new “Potter” story!
Yesterday saw a flurry of activity in the Potter fandom with the release of a new short story from J.K. Rowling. The story, written from the perspective of Rita Skeeter, revisited Harry and the gang as adults.
Daniel Radcliffe, speaking at the Television Critics Association press tour this week, commented on the publication of the new story and squashed any thoughts about potential future Potter projects:
My inclination is to say ‘no’ because I don’t think it’s even a hypothetical at the moment. […] What she’s written — and I haven’t read yet but I will — I understand it’s a very short piece. And he’s 12 years older than I am now.
Daniel also spoke about the influence of Potter on his career and the choices he makes now:
I think it is connected to Potter but maybe not in the way everyone thinks. What it is, I played only one character for such a long time, I think there’s a little bit of envy and desire to try as many different things as possible. Now that I’m in that position, I’m trying to while the getting is good.
Daniel further discussed his role in A Young Doctor’s Notebook, which currently only has four episodes a year due to tight actor schedules. Daniel said,
If you want to get a TV show greenlit, tell them you have Daniel Radcliffe and Jon Hamm over four weeks in the summer.
