Helena Bonham Carter visits students bound for Africa
Last week, Helena Bonham Carter – who portrayed Bellatrix Lestrange in the Harry Potter series – visited Elizabeth Garrett Anderson School as part of her charity work with Broaden Out Their Horizons. The group, nicknamed BOTH, is working to build an exchange program between the British school and Magoba Junior Secondary School in South Africa. The group hopes to provide memorable and life-changing experiences for children around the world. Carter, who is a matron of BOTH, appeared at the Anderson school to see off a group of students and teachers as they prepared to depart on a ten-day trip to South Africa.
Helena Bonham Carter is also a matron of Children of Peace, Oxfam, and Save the Children.
