Filming for the television adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s The Casual Vacancy has been set to get underway this summer. Now, the Stroud News and Journal is reporting that Archway School in Stroud, Gloucestershire, may be used as a filming location!
A letter reportedly sent home to parents explained that the production company, Bronte Film and Television, wants to use the school during early July and the summer break. Students were also offered the opportunity to sign up as extras. The letter described that “quite a large number of student extras were needed in scenes where it is necessary to recreate school assemblies, examinations, corridor and outdoor shots and getting on and off school buses.”
Archway School is a co-ed school for students ages 11 to 18. However, there is currently no confirmation of the filming plans.
As previously announced, Harry Potter alumnus Michael Gambon is set to play the role of Howard Mollison in the three-part miniseries, which will be co-produced by HBO and BBC.
