“Harry Potter” contender in UAE Favorite Book campaign
Harry Potter, as we all know, is clearly a series that means a lot to readers, and for different reasons. But one thing is certain – and that is that the popularity of the series means that it is consistently featured on lists of favorite and inspiring books.
We’ve posted about several of these lists in the past, and you can find out more about them on our books page, but now the series is in contention for the top spot on another list.
The Emirates Airline Festival of Literature is currently running a Favorite Books campaign:
The nominated books have been diverse, spanning a host of genres in fiction and non-fiction with a mix of classics, contemporary novels, literary fiction and commercial novels.
The article continues to say that while
a number of nominations were received by well-known classics such as Jane Austen’s ‘Pride and Prejudice’, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s ‘The Great Gatsby’ and Harper Lee’s “To Kill A Mockingbird”, […] contemporary hits like the ‘Harry Potter’ series and John Green’s ‘[The] Fault in our Stars’ have received a great deal of support.
You can find out more about the festival here and the campaign here and vote for your favorite books here. The results will be announced at next year’s festival – so look out for it then!
Which books have most inspired you? Would the Harry Potter series be on the list?
