“Harry Potter Unlocked” lecture at Texas A&M University!
Good news for Texan Harry Potter fans! A lecture, called “,” is due to take place next week at the West Texas A&M University. The lecture forms part of their ongoing lecture series and will
explore wizardry and fantasy in a presentation of ‘Harry Potter Unlocked’ at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 27 in the Jack B. Kelley Student Center, Legacy Hall.
The lecture will be given by MuggleNet Academia‘s John Granger.
Dr Elizabeth Clark, who teaches courses on Harry Potter, said,
This is the Harry Potter generation. Rowling’s stories have given young readers a way to relate to books, literature, reading and their world. Potter references can be useful in studying everything from Jane Austen to Nazi Germany, from modern London to medieval alchemy.
Having John Granger on campus will reinforce for students that Harry Potter might have something to teach them in college, including that reading is still fun.
Additionally, John Granger will take part in a Q&A session the following day, October 28, between 12:15 and 1:30 p.m.
