Painting by John Hurt to be auctioned for charity
Another Harry Potter star does their bit for charity as John Hurt takes part in Stars on Canvas, a biannual charity auction of paintings created by famous names. The canvases will be on auction for a period of 10 days, all of them starting at the low price of just £0.99 – the 10 days will start on November 13 and end on November 23. You can view a couple of pictures of Hurt’s painting below:
All money raised will go to the Willow Foundation, a charity that helps those ages 16-40 who are seriously ill by giving them what they have called Special Days. Special Days enables “them and their families to reconnect and refocus on each other while enjoying an activity of their choosing.” Stars on Canvas alone has helped raise over £150,000 for them in the past.
However, that’s not all – not only do the canvases go on auction, but they will also be publicly displayed at a four-day exhibition, which will take place at the Hub on Heddon Street in London. The dates the exhibition will take place are as follows:
• Thursday, November 20: 12 a.m.–6 p.m.
• Friday, November 21: 12 a.m.–6 p.m.
• Saturday, November 22: 12 a.m.–6 p.m.
• Sunday, November 23: 12 a.m.–4 p.m.
A whole host of celebrities from art, illustration, film, television, music, and sport have joined Hurt to take part in this year’s auction, including David Morrissey, Miranda Hart, Kylie Minogue, Shakira, Mo Farah, Axel Scheffler, and many more.
