The Harry Potter Alliance to celebrate ninth anniversary with special live broadcast!
Our friends at the Harry Potter Alliance do a lot, both within the world of Potterheads and beyond. The excitement of the HPA’s latest Equality FTW campaign isn’t the only thing that they’ve had to look forward to, however! Tomorrow, October 10, the Harry Potter Alliance will be celebrating its ninth anniversary!
It’s been nine years since the HPA was founded on October 10, 2005, and in order to kick off another great year of magic, they’re inviting fans to join in on their celebrations! Along with using the hashtag #HPAday to show your support on social media, the Harry Potter Alliance is asking that fans “share or reblog [their] main birthday image with your own personal account reflecting on your involvement with the HPA,” particularly “how you think being a wizard activist has validated your fandom experience.”
The highlight of tomorrow’s ninth anniversary? From 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET, the HPA will be having a real, LIVE birthday party, and you’re invited! They promise that there will be “a whole lineup of special guests to talk about our favorite HPA moments,” plus music and (virtual) cake. It’s easy to join in; just tune in by clicking on the link to the broadcast from RIGHT HERE. (If you’re a few minutes late to the party, don’t worry! As long as the broadcast is running, you’re good to go!)
For more on the Harry Potter Alliance and everything it does to be a place where people from all fandoms “can come together and find practical ways to decrease world suck,” you can visit their website here.
