Video: “Sesame Street” meets “Harry Potter” in new parody segment
The popular children’s television series Sesame Street soon might have children asking, “Can you tell me how to get / how to get to Diagon Alley?” At least, that seems to be a likely possibility, considering that one of the show’s newer segments, “Cookie’s Crumby Pictures,” has added a spoof on Harry Potter to the list of films it has parodied for its younger audiences.
As reported by Mental Floss, the clip, “Furry Potter and the Goblet of Cookies,” stars “a bespectacled, wand-wielding, broom-riding Cookie Monster” as Furry Potter, who goes off on an adventure to find the Goblet of Cookies. Naturally, the tasks that Furry Potter must accomplish are much more lighthearted than those Harry faces during the Triwizard Tournament. The video is also filled with plenty of nods to Cookie Monster’s love of cookies:
While Harry was forced to contend with angry dragons, man-hunting mermaids, and treacherous labyrinths on his quest to reach the Goblet of Fire, Furry Potter must simply listen closely to Professor Crumblemore’s instructions. If he can hear them over his rumbling tummy, that is.
