Tom Felton’s “Against the Sun” gets release date and teaser poster
Last month we told you that Tom Felton’s film Against the Sun was picked up for international distribution rights by Goldcrest Films and that it was scheduled for a US release at some point in January of next year. We can now inform you that this was indeed correct and the film will get a release date of January 23!
The Against the Sun Facebook page informs its fans that the movie will be available from this date not only in select cinemas but on Cable On Demand, iTunes, Amazon Instant, Xbox, and PlayStation as well. The page also shared a look at the official poster – have a gander below:
Along with Tom Felton, the film also stars Garret Dillahunt (Raising Hope, No Country for Old Men) and Jake Abel (The Lovely Bones, Percy Jackson). Part of a summary from the American Film Company is as follows:
It’s January 16, 1942. Veteran Navy pilot Harold Dixon and his young crew — radioman Gene Aldrich and bombardier Tony Pastula — take off from the deck of aircraft carrier USS Enterprise to search for Japanese submarines in the glistening waters of the South Pacific. The three men are virtual strangers, assigned to spend an afternoon together in a single-engine torpedo bomber. They should be back on the ship in time for dinner.
But instead of dinner, evening instead finds the men adrift on a dark ocean in a tiny rubber raft, forced to ditch their plane after they somehow lost their carrier…then their remaining fuel…then the setting sun. Most significantly, the plane itself sank to the ocean floor, carrying with it nearly all of their emergency supplies.
No first aid kit, no signaling device, no compass, no food, no water.
