New Lumos Campaign to “Leave No Families Behind”
Lumos needs your help! The charity is asking you to get involved in its latest campaign.
A new development agenda is being developed by the United Nations on March 23–27 in New York. This agenda will replace the current Millennium Development Goals and “significantly influence the way that billions of dollars of international aid is spent around the world. It has been agreed that this post-2015 development agenda will ‘leave no one behind’.”
Despite this, families and children in care are being left behind, and Lumos wants to change this. J.K. Rowling has written to the Secretary-General and many international leaders and policy makers to ensure that the Sustainable Development Goals include families – and children living without them.
Lumos wants to halve the number of children living in institutions by 2030, but it needs you to get involved. To get involved, all you need to do is tweet the message out to key representatives, including the UN Secretary-General and the USA Permanent Representative. Lumos has even created a message for you to use:
Don’t leave families behind in the #Post2015 agenda. No families = no sustainable development. #LeaveNoOneBehind #SDGs
