“The Casual Vacancy” DVD available to pre-order
The BBC and HBO adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s 2012 novel, The Casual Vacancy, finished airing this week in the UK. The three-part miniseries was brought to a close on Sunday night and was followed by a tweet of approval from J.K. Rowling:
.@CampbellJonny1 @PhelpsieSarah Well, that's me crying my eyes out, so job done. Serves me right, some might say. Thank you, thank you xxx

Despite the changes that took place with the story, Jo was clearly happy with the story and spoke previously about how thrilled she was with the way Sarah Phelps, the screenwriter, had handled the material.
If you’re in the UK and missed the airing – or just want to own your own copy of the adaptation – the DVD is now available to pre-order online. The DVD is priced at £10.49 and is available from the BBC shop, as well as other places, including Amazon. It will be released on June 15, 2015. The DVD cover is based on the original design of the hardback book:
Don’t worry if you’re in the US; the series hasn’t been aired yet. It will be shown on April 29 and 30 on HBO.
