Timothy Spall’s “Mr. Turner” arriving on Blu-ray May 12

Sony Pictures Home Entertainment has announced the release of Mr. Turner on Blu-ray for May 12!

The critically acclaimed film, which stars actor Timothy Spall (Peter Pettigrew) as British painter J.M.W. Turner, recounts both Turner’s artistic and sexual exploits:

[H]e travels, paints, stays with the country aristocracy, visits brothels, is a popular if anarchic member of the Royal Academy of Arts, has himself strapped to the mast of a ship so that he can paint a snowstorm, and is both celebrated and reviled by the public and by royalty.

Special features to be found on the disc include an audio commentary with director Mike Leigh, “The Cinematic Palette: The Cinematography of Mr. Turner,” “Many Colors of Mr. Turner,” and a deleted scene.
