Daniel Radcliffe named LGBT 2015 Celebrity Straight Ally
Last week, at the British LGBT Awards 2015, Daniel Radcliffe was named Celebrity Straight Ally. He was given the award alongside British TV presenter Lorraine Kelly, who currently hosts an ITV daytime show. The awards took place in London last week, and other award winners included TV personality Graham Norton and Olympic swimmer Tom Daley.
Unfortunately, Daniel couldn’t attend the event, but he posted a thank you message online:
Other nominees included Spice Girls member Mel C, Russell Brand, and Olympian Louis Smith.
In the past, Daniel has said,
Gay people should have equality in law everywhere… If you grow up as a young gay man knowing you don’t have the same opportunities as everyone else, you’re going to feel victimized and massive prejudice towards you.
Congratulations to Daniel and Lorraine, a very well-deserved award!
