Matt Lewis voices “Captain Extraordinary”
It has been revealed that Matt Lewis (Neville Longbottom) has been involved with the development of an animated TV series called Captain Extraordinary. Matt has lent his voice to the title character, Captain Extraordinary, as Rushfirth Creative, a Yorkshire-based company, develops the series.
Matt has not been officially confirmed in the role, but Matthew-Lewis.com writes that
the creators of the show would love to have him voice the final show if it is commissioned.
Captain Extraordinary is
an animated fast-paced action-adventure show with a HUGE emphasis on quirky off-beat humour. Primarily aimed at an audience aged 7–11 years, the 26 episodes each bring 22 minutes of wacky fantasy storytelling that constantly delivers on laughs.
Howard, the director of the series, said that
Matthew’s delivery of Neville’s stumbling, defiant monologue before Voldemort at the climax of Deathly Hallows was my absolute favourite scene in the entire Harry Potter series and possibly one of my favourite movie moments of all time – and I ‘like my movies’ to put it mildly, so that’s a big deal.
Matthew’s contribution to our work is amazing- and he’s just captured everything we wanted for the Captain; we’re feeling very privileged.
Hopefully, we’ll learn soon if Matt is to be cast in the role!
