MuggleNet’s Ordinary Wizarding Level Examinations (OWLs) return in June
One of our favorite times of the year – testing your knowledge of the world of Harry Potter!
Back by popular demand, the most challenging subject material examinations from the wizarding world are coming back to MuggleNet and will be held in our Great Hall from Sunday, June 14 at midnight until Saturday, June 27 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
The MuggleNet Ordinary Wizarding Level examinations, or OWLs, encompass 12 exams, one for each course taught at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry:
- Care of Magical Creatures – 50 questions
- Charms – 50 questions
- Defense Against the Dark Arts – 50 questions
- History of Magic – 50 questions
- Potions – 50 questions
- Transfiguration – 50 questions
- Ancient Runes – 25 questions
- Arithmancy – 25 questions
- Astronomy – 25 questions
- Divination – 25 questions
- Herbology – 25 questions
- Muggle Studies – 25 questions
As many of you already know, these examinations are not easy since they are timed exams (30 minutes for 50-question exams and 20 minutes for 25-question exams). The questions range in difficulty from easy to extremely hard and appear in a random order from a large test bank. The questions not only include material from the seven-book Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling as their primary source material but also may include items from outside the books. This includes J.K. Rowling’s Daily Prophet papers, Famous Witch and Wizard Trading Cards, Pottermore, Quidditch Through the Ages, Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and more.
In order to pass these exams, it may be necessary to take some refresher classes on the MuggleNet Interactive website, where the professors are currently reviewing material for these exams.
Are you a Hermione Granger or a Marcus Flint type of student? We will find out next month. Be sure to tell ALL of your Harry Potter friends, and challenge them to see who knows more about the wizarding world!
