RUMOR: Emma Watson to star in “The Circle”

Rumors are floating around that Emma Watson has been offered a role in the upcoming film The Circle. The film is based off of the novel by Dave Eggers, which was released in 2013.

The Circle is set in the future at the world’s most powerful Internet company. It is at this company that Mae Holland (whom Watson will play if she accepts the rumored offer) has been hired. Here we follow Mae as she begins her climb from the bottom of the company to the inner circles. As Mae is promoted her personal life begins to change, technology becomes dominate, and privacy in her life is smothered.

The original actress to play Mae, Alicia Vikander, has been rumored to drop out because of scheduling conflicts. If Emma accepts the role of Mae Holland, she will be acting alongside Tom Hanks. Hanks is known for many roles, including Forrest Gump, The Da Vinci Code, and Saving Private Ryan.
