Fantastic Beasts: Mundungus Fletcher Caught at Modesty Audition
On July 18, thousands of young girls showed up in London to audition for the part of Modesty in the upcoming Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them film—only one of them wasn’t a girl or between the ages of 8 and 12.
Mundungus Fletcher was apprehended on Saturday when, during his audition, he transformed from a nine-year-old, rosy-cheeked blonde into—well—a hag. Taking a cue from the late Albus Dumbledore, the wizard staff on the casting crew created an age line around the area where the children stood for their interview. The moment the seemingly adorable girl crossed, she transformed. Once the Polyjuice Potion wore off, the perpetrator was revealed to be none other than Mundungus—Order member and notorious thief.
Fletcher used a bag with an Undetectable Extension Charm to conceal a gallon of Polyjuice Potion. More than enough for a ten-hour wait in line.
Several of the casting crew were Confunded as Mundungus struggled to get away, delaying the casting process an extra hour for the thousands of waiting girls.
The Daily Prophet would like to extend our congratulations to the one hundred girls who made it to the next round of auditions. The Ministry assures the public that Mundungus will be kept under lock and key until the casting process is complete.
