French Quidditch Federation Seeking New Leadership
The French Quidditch Federation (FQF) joins QuidditchUK and US Quidditch in the recent search for new leadership. Last month, QuidditchUK and US Quidditch both announced the departure of their president and CEO, respectively. On Friday, the FQF announced three resignations within their organization.
President Orel Cosseron details his many successes in his letter of resignation, including the growth of teams in the region and the win of the European Quidditch Cup. He also gives reasons as to why he has stepped down, with the main reason being financial issues.
Treasurer Alexandre Delaby also stepped down, also highlighting the struggles with finances for the organization. Both Delaby and Cosseron mention the issues they ran into while planning for the French Quidditch Cup (FQC). After the funding issues for this event, Delaby chose to cancel the national training camp, stating that he did not want a repeat of the financial collapse of the FQC. Cosseron admits that this cancellation was the last straw for him. Delay and Cosseron assure the public that the finances are now stable.
Secretary Yves Ferraris-Bouchez has resigned as well, but for different reasons. Ferraris-Bouchez relays that he has chosen to step down for more personal reasons. He discusses in his letter how he has lost motivation for the job from the many responsibilities and the pressure from the community.
The FQF will be searching for replacements for the three figures over the next two weeks. Successors will be elected from the pool of applicants by the French teams.
