Donte Quinine Succeeds Alicia Radford as USQ’s Executive Director
The search for US Quidditch’s (USQ) Executive Director is over with the hiring of Donte Quinine. He will be replacing Alicia Radford, who announced her departure in April.
Quinine has always had a passion for sports, playing all of the major sports as a child and later focusing on basketball. He played basketball through college and also on a few professional teams around the world.
He not only was a professional athlete, but Quinine joins USQ with plenty of experience as well. He has a Master’s in Organizational Leadership and has worked as the Assistant Athletics Director and Major Gifts Officer at Seattle Pacific University, Leadership Facilitator for the NCAA, and Director of Student Life, Outreach, and Recruitment at Wenatchee Valley College.
He states that the USQ’s mission of gender inclusivity and their way of building strong communities is what pushed him to apply for, and ultimately accept, the position.
I was drawn to the unique culture of USQ. The staff, volunteers, players, fans, and all of the other constituents are very passionate about the sport. It has been my dream to lead an organization with the vibrancy of USQ. I really wanted to be part of an organization that is growing and pioneering a new vision for inclusive sports and community.
Jacob Adlis, chairman for USQ, expresses the Board’s excitement. He states,
Between his demonstrated passion for the mission of USQ, his experience in university athletics administration, and his background as a professional athlete, Donte brings a wealth of knowledge to our growing organization. As we continue to execute […] our strategic plan and usher in the next phase of USQ’s growth, Donte will provide a strong source of leadership for the expansion of the sport of [Q]uidditch.
Quinine’s first day of the job is September 21, and he will work together with Radford until the end of the month. Help us welcome Donte Quinine to the world of Muggle Quidditch!
