Rupert Grint, Julie Walters Support Macmillan Coffee Mornings with Recipes
Today, September 25, up and down the UK, coffee mornings are being thrown to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. Macmillan Cancer Support is a charity in the UK that supports those with cancer, as well as their friends and families. Macmillan provides specialist nurses, information, and invaluable support for those affected by cancer.
The fundraiser, called the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning, takes place every year, and this year the charity is celebrating 25 years of coffee mornings – that’s an awful lot of coffee and cake! Here’s some more about the fundraiser from the official website:
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. We ask people all over the UK to host their own Coffee Mornings, and donations on the day are made to Macmillan. Last year alone we raised £25 million, and this year we are aiming to raise even more.
In honor of this year’s fundraiser, Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley) has given his own recipe to the charity. The recipe, for stem ginger and dark chocolate biscuits, can be found on the Macmillan page, alongside recipes from bakers and celebrities, including none other than Mrs. Weasley herself – Julie Walters. Walters has provided a recipe for a delicious-sounding hokey pokey rocky road.
