Emma Watson Interviews Malala Yousafzai at Into Film Festival
At the opening of the Into Film Festival yesterday afternoon (November 4), over 10,000 people in the UK saw a rare and inspiring exchange between Emma Watson and Malala Yousafzai.
Into Film is a charity that supports and encourages youths to get involved in the arts. Incidentally, the charity recently appointed Sir Kenneth Branagh (Gilderoy Lockhart) as its ambassador.
Emma Watson, former Potter star and UN Women Goodwill Ambassador, in conversation with Malala Yousafzai, the 18-year-old Nobel Prize laureate and co-founder of the Malala Fund, discussed several pressing topics, including education, equality, and feminism. Emma also asked Malala several questions submitted by the students and teachers of the UK, discussing Malala’s ambitions, her teachers, and her advice for the youth watching the interview.
The Into Film Festival marks the opening of Malala’s documentary He Named Me Malala, which gives us a glimpse of the events leading up to her speech to the United Nations, including the Taliban’s attack on Malala.
We’re extremely stoked that it’s Emma Watson who had the opportunity to interview Malala. It’s heartwarming to know that Hermione’s tenacious spirit is something she shares with Emma. You can read about her HeForShe campaign here.
The full interview was uploaded on Emma’s Facebook page a few hours ago. You can watch it below.
