“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” Roundup: Behind the Scenes
Things have gone quiet in the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them world in the last week, and there’s not much to report. But as always, little snippets of information have come our way, and as always, we’re here to gather them up for you.
Last week we learned that the film was due to go on location again, although since then, we haven’t heard much from the set.
Of course we know that things on the set are under close wraps, but Yorkshire filmmaker Dan Hartley has spoken about his experiences working up through the Harry Potter films. He eventually became a video assist operator on set, after starting out as a runner at the beginning of the ten-year journey. He is currently working on the Fantastic Beasts set and spoke about his experiences.
It acted as a very long film school. I never went to film school, so I learned on the job. A series of guys kept getting fired, which meant that I went from a trainee to managing a department on a huge film not really knowing what I was doing.
In addition to working on the Fantastic Beasts set, Dan is also making a film of his own and is hoping to raise enough money to make it happen.
A couple of new cast members have been added to the IMDb page, extending the ever growing cast list even more.
Andrew Parker is listed as a gangster at a bar, and Adam Chamberlain is listed as a store worker.
Plus this week:
We learned more about the hair and make-up operation on the set of the movie.
Eddie Redmayne spoke about dealing with snakes on set.
Daniel Radcliffe admitted his coat envy (we think that pretty much everyone is envious of that coat, let’s be honest!).
That’s it for this week!
Hopefully next week will bring us plenty more Fantastic Beasts news – but as always, we’ll just have to wait and see! You can keep up with all the latest news here.
