“Fantastic Beasts” Character Descriptions Have Been Revealed!
We’ve come to the conclusion that the team behind Fantastic Beasts is trying to kill us. They’ve teamed up with Entertainment Weekly to exclusively provide us with photos and plot lines. Now, character descriptions from the upcoming first film in the magical trilogy have been released.
Here's what they've shared so far:
Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne):
An eccentric globe-hopping English [M]agizoologist wizard who’s far more comfortable around beasts and creatures than he is around other people. Comes to New York on a quest with his case full of magical habitats containing rare and endangered species.
Porpentina "Tina" Goldstein (Katherine Waterston):
An ambitious worker at the Magical Congress of the United States of America (aka MACUSA, the U.S. version of the Ministry of Magic) who meets Newt. Tina is relegated to an office well below her abilities after she stood up for the wrong person. She longs to fight for what's right.
Queenie Goldstein (Alison Sudol):
Tina's younger sister and roommate, a big-hearted free-spirit [L]egilimens who can read minds.
Jacob Kowalski (Dan Fogler):
An optimistic No-Maj (aka Muggle) factory worker/aspiring baker who gets introduced to the wizarding world when he meets Newt. Fun fact: He's the Harry Potter franchise's first Muggle main character.
Graves (Colin Farrell):
A powerful [A]uror and the right-hand man of the American wizarding world's president.
Mary Lou (Samantha Morton):
The narrow-minded leader of the fanatical Second Salemers, a group looking to expose and destroy wizards and witches.
Credence (Ezra Miller):
Perhaps the cast's most mysterious character. He's Mary Lou's troubled adopted son.
Is anyone else fall-down-on-the-floor excited about this? Between releasing the plot and photos, and now character descriptions, Fantastic Beasts is shaping up to be quite the adventure. She didn’t CHANGE it. No Maj is an American slang term for Muggle. Muggle is UK.
LOL…changing it to fit American slang IS bad form, just ask all the Muggles that visit the UK in Orlando ;P

Well, yeah. I’m okay with this change, but anything else’d be stretching it. Jo should know that by now, given all the hate on the no-maj.
Ezra Miller !! wow, this guy is a phenomenal actor. Remember his role in “Perks..” or how about “We need to talk about Kevin” His presence is a definite plus for these films.
