Harry Potter’s “Order of the Phoenix” Pop-Punk Playlist
Fans tend to categorize Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix as Harry’s teenage angst phase. Life is tough for Harry in his fifth year: He recently witnessed Cedric Diggory’s murder, the return of Lord Voldemort, the wizard population in disbelief about a said return to power, and teenage hormones. I’ve decided to take some popular pop-punk songs that I feel Harry would have blasted in his four-poster bed for your Order of the Phoenix pop-punk playlist.
1. “Untitled” – Simple Plan
Scene: Harry reflecting on Cedric’s death and the guilt he feels.
2. “The World Is Black” – Good Charlotte
Scene: Feelings after the battle at Department of Mysteries.
3. “The Saddest Song” – The Ataris
Scene: Sirius’s thoughts about his absence in Harry’s life (and also, after he died).
4. “This Is War” – Thirty Seconds to Mars

“Hogwarts is threatened! Man the boundaries! Do your duty to our school”
I imagine everyone at the end of the “Welcome to My Life” music video getting out of their cars to band together and kick those punks off the bridge so that they can proceed with their lives…
