The Pottermore Correspondent Reveals “Fantastic Beasts” Diner Scene
The Pottermore Correspondent has been providing a behind-the-scenes glimpse of the action on Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them since Pottermore’s relaunch in September, and their latest update continues their trend of dropping hints of information about what fans can expect to see when the film hits theaters later this year.
Describing, firsthand, what it’s like to be an extra on the set of Fantastic Beasts, the Pottermore Correspondent reveals that there will be a diner scene in the film. Because the Pottermore Correspondent is apparently playing a No-Maj (Muggle) character, it is likely that the diner is not a magical establishment (such as the Leaky Cauldron).
The character Graves (played by actor Colin Farrell) will be present in this scene. As the PMC writes,
You might spot me a few metres from the back of Colin Farrell’s head, in a performance my mother describes as ‘incredibly moving. Probably.’
Not long after, the Pottermore Correspondent also mentions that Ezra Miller was on set:
Colleen Atwood dressed me, Fae Hammond chose my make-up, David Yates directed Ezra Miller in the same room as me.
Miller is playing the role of Credence in the film. Little is known about his character, although Credence was described by Entertainment Weekly as being the antagonistic Mary Lou’s “troubled adopted son.”
The Pottermore Correspondent does not divulge much about the scene itself, aside from a few actions that they had to perform while in character, such as,
Look over the top of your glasses quizzically several times like someone who definitely wears glasses in real life.
Toward the end of the article, the Pottermore Correspondent writes about having had to be evacuated from a tent because of “gale-force winds.” This was likely because of Storm Barney, which tore apart a green screen that was being used for Fantastic Beasts.
While the PMC only wrote about the first day of their work as an extra, we have to wonder what happens in the diner scene. With the release date for Fantastic Beasts coming later this year, let’s hope that we don’t have too long to wait!
