Emma Watson Launches HeForShe Arts Week in New York
It’s International Women’s Day, and that means the launch of the first ever HeForShe Arts Week. The inaugural HeForShe Arts Week was announced at the end of January and was launched today (March 8) by Emma Watson in New York City. The week will celebrate artists and art and engage with art all over the city.

Emma appeared on stage today to launch the week, and she chatted with Forest Whitaker, an artist, social activist, and UNESCO Special Enovy for Peace, about gender inequality and the arts. If you missed the livestream earlier today, you can watch the full conversation below.

After launching Arts Week, Emma headed to the Empire State Building, where she lit up the building in pink alongside Chirlane McCray, an activist, artist, and First Lady of New York (seen in the promotional video above).
