“Potter” Alumni Nominated for BAFTA TV Awards 2016
Every year, the British Academy of Film and Television Arts TV Awards rewards the best in British television broadcast during the preceding year, and this year, a number of Potter alumni were among those nominated!
Stephen Fry, who voiced the UK versions of the Harry Potter audio books and three installments of the Harry Potter video games, is nominated for Best Entertainment Performance for his role in the show QI. The show is also nominated for Best Comedy and Comedy Entertainment Programme.
Toby Jones, who voiced Dobby in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Parts 1 & 2, is nominated for Best Male Performance in a Comedy Programme for his role in Dectorists.
The Enfield Haunting, starring Timothy Spall, who portrayed Peter Pettigrew, is nominated for Best Mini-series.
London Spy is also nominated for Best Mini-series and stars Jim Broadbent, our own Professor Horace Slughorn.
The Last Panthers is nominated for Best Drama Series and stars John Hurt, who portrayed Garrick Ollivander, and created by Jack Thorne, the author of the new play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child.
