Special Guests Announced for WWoHP Hollywood Opening!
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter is set to finally open at Universal Studios Hollywood on Thursday, April 7. To celebrate, Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), James and Oliver Phelps (Fred and George Weasley), Warwick Davis (Professor Filius Flitwick/Griphook), and Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) will be walking the red carpet for the Grand Opening event on April 5.
The former Potter alumni will be joined by a very special guest: Oscar-winning composer John Williams, who scored the first three Harry Potter films, including the iconic “Hedwig’s Theme.” Williams will be conducting the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra for the event.
Following in the footsteps of Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Japan, the Hollywood attraction will bring back some of the fans’ favorite rides, as well as a few new surprises! For example, the ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey – which is featured at both the Orlando and Japan parks – will bring new state-of-the-art 3D-HD technology for the first time in the US, promising visitors a trip with a whole new dimension! Meanwhile, Flight of the Hippogriff will be Universal Studio Hollywood’s first outdoor rollercoaster.
Fans will be able to walk to Hogsmeade and visit all of Harry’s favorite haunts, such as Honeydutrite the Three Broomsticks, and Zonko’s Joke Shop. Oh, and be sure to pay a trip to Ollivanders to pick up your very own wand!
