“Cursed Child” May Have Found Its Rose Weasley!
Ever since the very first casting announcements of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child were made, fans have been sitting tight with anticipation to know who will be playing the lead roles. Now that we know who has been cast as Harry, Ron, Hermione, we await the casting revelations of the trio’s children. According to the Voice, Cherrelle Skeete, a 26-year-old actress from Birmingham, will be joining the 42-person cast of the UK production in a “lead role.”
Skeete is known for her television debut in the BBC series Call the Midwife. She has also starred in the BBC One drama Danny and the Human Zoo with Evanna Lynch. We can’t help but wonder whether Skeete will play the role of Rose Weasley, the daughter of Ron and Hermione, who began attending Hogwarts the same time as Albus Severus Potter and Scorpius Malfoy. If so, we couldn’t be more excited for the talented actress.
Earlier this year, the casting of Anthony Boyle as Scorpius Malfoy was revealed, along with a list of the entire cast. Here’s to hoping that the rest of the roles to be played by the cast are revealed soon! Harry Potter and the Cursed Child will open on July 30, with Part 1 starting at 2:00 p.m. and Part 2 at 7:30 p.m. You can catch up with the latest news about the production here.
Which role do you think Cherrelle Skeete will be playing? Are you looking forward to watching the production/reading the script? Let us know in the comments!
