Was a Major Plot Point Released for “Fantastic Beasts” in a Recent Interview?

In a recent interview at CinemaCon 2016, actor Dan Fogler, who portrays Jacob Kowalski in the soon-to-be-released film Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, revealed some new information regarding the main character, and author, Newt Scamander.

Dan Fogler stated,

He [Newt Scamander] and I [Jacob Kowalski] literally bump into each other, and our cases get switched up. I open my case thinking that inside are pastries, and it’s actually an entire zoo of magical creatures that come stampeding out, and one of them actually bites me.

It sounds as though the case was opened up more than “just a smidge” as Newt stated in the first announcement trailer.

Dan further revealed,

[Newt] takes me [Jacob] along and tries to heal me as he tries to collect all these creatures in the city, and over the course of that, he and I become friends.
