China, J.K. Rowling Has a Big Surprise for You

Potterheads in China are in for a treat! Organizers of the upcoming Shanghai International Film Festival have announced that they will be screening all eight Potter films as part of this year’s event.

In addition to this, the organizers have also let slip that a “surprise” is in store from none other than J.K. Rowling herself. Sadly, that is all the information we have available at this point since the festival organizers have said that fans will have to wait until the first screening of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone on Saturday, June 11 to discover exactly what this surprise entails.

However, that has not stopped fans from speculating that the surprise could have something to do with the two upcoming Potter projects: the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which holds its first official preview next week, and the hotly anticipated Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them. The Shanghai International Film Festival runs until June 19.
